The leader in automated hand hygiene technology supports PIT’s Safe TravelsTM program with CleanTech® Handwashing Stations

GOLDEN, Colo., December 22, 2020 /Issuewire/ -- Meritech, the leader in automated hygiene technology, announced they are installing CleanTech® Automated Handwashing Stations at Pittsburgh International Airport to help make holiday travel safer this year.

“Handwashing is the best defense against the spread of disease, but unfortunately most people are not washing their hands correctly. These misperceptions can lead many to believe their hands are clean and safe when they may actually be increasing the risk of infection spread,” said Will Eaton, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Meritech. “We hope that Meritech’s CleanTech® Automated Handwashing Stations will help make holiday travel safer this year at PIT and years to come.”

The two stations have been installed at the airport’s Landside train platform, just past the TSA security checkpoint, a high-touch area at the airport. These CleanTech® handwashing stations will remove more than 99.9% of dangerous pathogens from travelers’ hands in a quick 12-second automated hand wash.

“This handwashing station continues our mission of making PIT the safest, healthiest airport we possibly can,” said Travis McNichols, Vice President for Public Safety. “We know the security process involves close contact with shared resources as well as other people, and this station—along with hand sanitizers and accessible restrooms—is an additional opportunity for passengers to focus on health on their journey.”
