Cleaning & maintenance

For equipment to function properly and have a long life regular cleaning and preventive maintenance are critical.

General information:

Put on all appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)

We recommend a minimum of protective glasses and gloves.

Disconnect your system

Whenever you are cleaning or working on the Cleantech Handwashing system you must disconnect the system from the electrical source and follow your lockout and tag-out procedure for cleaning and sanitizing of equipment.

Schedule:

Weekly

Clean the exterior of your system on a weekly basis:

  1. Start with a disinfectant cleaner to clean the entire system
  2. Follow that up with a Foaming cleaner
  3. Finish with a non-alcohol wipe cleaning product
  4. Check brushes for soil build up

Quarterly

With time and use the nozzles will become blocked with mineral deposits and soap build-up. Follow the steps below to clean the nozzles:

  1. Replace boot cleaner with a gallon bottle of a mineral deposit remover (or similar item)
  2. Run the boot scrubber for a period of 15 minutes by covering the photo-eye
  3. Replace the mineral deposit remover with water and flush the system for 5 minutes
  4. Replace with the boot cleaner chemical and run the system for 1 minute to re-prime the system by holding your hand over one of the photo-eyes

Check the drive trains. In time chains can stretch causing brushes/sprockets to slip and not clean the boots correctly and the system may make load noises. For detailed instructions on how to tighten the drive train please use the manual for your specific system.
