Achieve Hygiene Excellence.

Meritech COVID-19 Response

For almost 30 years, Meritech has lived by a core value of making the world a healthier and safer place by redefining human hygiene. This enduring mission guides us as we face the difficult challenge of responding to the coronavirus (COVID-19), which the World Health Organization declared a pandemic on Wednesday, March 11. This is a time when we must do all we can to reduce the spread of COVID-19, protect our most vulnerable populations, and reduce the potential to acquire or spread this virus. See our internal protocols implemented in response to the coronavirus outbreak. We also have extended service agreements for existing customers with no extra cost, learn more below.

Response Level: 2
Updated: 03/23/2020

On March 16, 2020 Meritech implemented safety precautions to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and keep employees safe while still meeting customer needs. Due to increased risk we have decided to expand our response protocol to include the following:

  • To mitigate the risk of community spread, a professional service has been contracted to sanitize all touch points inside the building on a daily basis. A team of three individuals will spend 3-hours per evening (or more as needed) sanitizing offices, door knobs, light switches, tools, and all surface areas inside the building. This includes all offices, conference rooms, production area and shipping/receiving area.
  • All office personnel is to work from home until further notice. Employees are to enter the building only if strictly necessary to maintain business continuity and for as short a period of time as possible.
  • All outside sales personnel should work from home and customer visits should only occur if absolutely necessary for business continuity.
  • All production and shipping/receiving personnel is considered essential and needs to continue to be in the building. Hourly personnel will receive 1.5X hourly wages for the time spent inside the building during this time of increased risk.
  • All production and shipping/receiving personnel is required to stop work every hour on the hour to sanitize all work areas and tools, and wash hands.
  • All service team members are to work from home. Their time should be spent actively calling every single customer with a service agreement to offer remote support and hygiene guidance. Any customer visit should only be considered after all remote options have been exhausted.
  • All staff, including hourly employees, have paid sick leave and are encouraged to rest and recover if ill.

Service Agreement Extension

Due to the impact of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic on social interaction and travel restrictions, and in an effort to act responsibly to prevent further spread, we have made the decision to temporarily discontinue all non-critical preventative maintenance facility visits.

Our entire customer service and field service teams will be available to help support any technical inquiries remotely. In an effort to mitigate impact on existing customers, we will be extending every service agreement that is active by 30 days at no additional cost. We will continue to monitor the situation, and if further measures are required we will promptly send notification.

Please contact us with any further questions. As experts in human hygiene, our goal is to empower customers with information and resources to respond responsibly to this threat. Please visit our Coronavirus Information Center at to learn more.
